Fox/Atkins Development LLC began development of The Research Park in 2000 and since then aggressively marketed the properties, attracted tenants, and built new facilites. The Research Park provides an environment where technology-based businesses can work with research faculty and students to take advantage of opportunities for collaborative research with easy access to University labs, equipment, and services.

The Research Park at the University of Illinois was designed to encourage research and development collaboration between industry and the University. The Research Park provides each company access to leading faculty researchers, outstanding student talent, and fee-based use of university laboratories and equipment. Collaboration with research faculty can provide creative and cost-effective solutions to technical issues that companies face.

The Research Park is located adjacent to the University of Illinois Campus. At the present time, the Park consists of over 600,000 developed square feet of space occupied by approximately 90 tenants and 1,400 employees.
