'He Gets It'. On and Off Court, Deron Williams Shows the Way

Champaign, IL-News Gazette-August 2009: On August 29th and 30th Deron Williams came back to Champaign-Urbana to host his second Illini Hoops Legends for Charity event at the iHotel and Conference Center. The event raised money for the I Fund and various area charities. Following the large reception on Friday, there was an outing on Saturday at Stone Creek Golf Club in Urbana. Mr. Fox made the weekend even more memorable for several Urbana Middle School students who he included in the festivities. "Their eyes were huge all evening as they attempted to take everything in and forget nothing," said Urbana Middle School Principal, Nancy Clinton.

IHotel's New Landscaping

August 2009: This summer the IHotel and Houlihan's restaurant had some great additions done to their front landscaping. The breathtaking work was done by Proven Winners.

Prairie Rivers and Developer Infiltrate Stormwater Together

August 2009: When rain falls and snow melts, the resulting stormwater runoff eventually winds up in rivers and lakes. As stormwater travels, it picks up trash, pesticides, and other pollutants that then contaminate Illinois' waterways. Fortunately, Fox Development Corporation of Champaign asked us for help on two projects where the green infrastructure approach would not only improve on-site water permeability, but aesthetics as well!

Firm to Launch Lead-Detecting Device this Fall

August 20th, 2009: Research Park company, DzymeTech plans to launch its first product -- a fluorometer that can detect lead in water -- in October.

Benefactors offer help with entrepreneurship program

News-Gazette, February 26, 2008: Champaign developer Peter Fox and venture capitalist G. Steven Burrill have pledged a total of $200,000 to help support a new University of Illinois program that provides life science students with training in entrepreneurship and management.
The program is a joint effort of the Institute for Genomic Biology and the College of Business, with the pledged money going toward scholarships, a UI news release stated.

Three firms set up new office in UI Research Park

News-Gazette, February 10, 2008: Three new companies have taken up quarters in the University of Illinois Research Park in Champaign. Danville-based Time-O-Matic, which sells LED signs under the Watchfire Signs name, San Francisco-based Riverbed Technology moved its Urbana office to the second floor of the iCyt building, and Ploughman Analytics has opened a small office in the Information Technology Center building, the same building occupied by Yahoo.
