Peter and Kim Fox in the Crisis Nursery Newsletter
PDF Print E-mail

Community leaders Peter and Kim Fox promote economic development in the C-U area and are actively involved in and supportive of many local organizations, Unit 4 and Unit 116 school districts, Parkland College, and the U of I. Their recent gift of $50,000 to the Nursery is one of several they have provided to us over the years. We had the opportunity to visit with Peter and Kim recently at the Nursery.

Peter and Kim believe strongly in giving their support to an organization with solid leadership and a knowledgeable and involved board of directors. Peter said that Crisis Nursery is a local nonprofit that is “operating as it should, actively seeking grants, and filling an important need in the community. This is an organization worthy of great local support.”

Both Peter and Kim encourage other business leaders to come in and see the Nursery in action. “They must see that the facility is more than care giving,” said Kim. The Nursery reaches out with parent support programs, nurturing skills train- ing and child interaction classes. “The Nursery truly goes beyond an immediate crisis and tries to get to the root of our local families’ concerns and stresses,” said Peter.

The Foxes are not only very generous to the Nursery but have been instrumental in improving the entire area of town where the Nursery is located. Provena Covenant Campus, the nearby Hampton Inn, a Habitat for Humanity house up the street and the beautifica- tion of University Avenue near the Nursery are all beneficiaries of their generosity. They both stressed that the amount does not matter, it is the contribution, the involvement, that makes a difference.

Please consider what you as an individual or a business person can do for the Nursery. We hope you will choose to follow the good example of Peter and Kim Fox in bettering the community for all of our families.
