Fox Family Faculty Endowments

Peter and Kim Fox gave $2 million to the University of Illinois to help recruit top professors and promote business growth in Champaign-Urbana. The $2 million funds four professorships at $500,000 each, with priority given to faculty who are involved in private business and in the development and transfer of UI technologies to the private sector. The professorships will be in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, the College of Business, and in one other department to be determined by the chancellor.

These professors have been named:

• Electrical and Computer Engineering: Prof. Overbye founder of PowerWorld
• Chemical Engineering: Prof. Richard Masel founder of Tekion
• Business: Professor Mark C. Vonnahme

Cozad Business Plan Competition

The V. Dale Cozad Business Plan Competition is designed to encourage students, researchers, and community members to create new sustainable businesses in the Champaign-Urbana area. The winner gets cash and assistance. He is usually a judge for the competition and tries to help make business connections for the winners. Examples of successful companies that have been funded or were finalists include: aPriori, Kim Labs, Intersymbol, InstaRecon, etc. This program is administered through the College of Engineering TEC office. Peter Fox funds this competition annually.

Cozad Lecture Series

The Cozad Lecture Series was established by a gift from Kim and Peter Fox and enhanced by additional gifts from the family and friends of Dale Cozad. This lecture series honors the memory of Dale Cozad and the hard work, dedication, and entrepreneurial spirit that led to his great success. This program is administered through the College of Business and the Academy for Entrepreneurial Leadership. Examples of past speakers include: Shahid Khan, Jimmy John Liautaud, Paul Orfalea who founded Kinko's, and Dr. Hatim Tyabji Chairman of Bytemobile, who is also a member of the Board of Directors for Best Buy.

Krannert Center for the Performing Arts

Fox Development has been a continued sponsor of Krannert annually. This season, Fox Development is a Corporate Power Train sponsor.

Krannert Art Museum

Kim and Peter Fox have sponsored numerous exhibits at the museum, including:

Department of Intercollegiate Athletics

Peter Fox is a regular annual contributor to DIA and helps support the IFund and funding for recruiting new student athletes. Peter is part of the Loyalty Circle at the IFund.
