Investing In Children

The Parkland College Foundation is pleased to honor Alaa Ahmad, Tiera Campbell, and Leah Zimmerman as the fall 2007 recipients of the Fox Development Scholarship. Alaa Ahmad and Tiera Campbell attended Westview Elementary School and Leah Zimmerman was a student at Thomas Paine Elementary School. Westview Elementary School and Thomas Paine Elementary School are two local schools that have been adopted by Fox Development Corporation. The Fox Development Scholarship represents a commitment and investment in our children in the local community. Our aim is to support worthy students achieve their educational goals and to contribute their talents to the community.

 

 

Peter Fox receives 2008 Partners in Education Award

August 11, 2008-Peter Fox has been given this award in recognition of his large contribution and involvement in several Champaign district schools.

Mr. Fox continues to contribute to local education efforts. As of June 2009 he has adopted 6 local schools including Kenwood, Westview, South Side, Edison, Wiley, and Thomas Paine. He is also the lead gift giver and principal organizer for the Champaign Urbana Schools Foundation Splash Grant program. This program receives private donations from local businesses to support teachers. It is specifically designed to help pay for out-of-pocket expenses to make classrooms a better place to teach. In the 2008-2009 school year, CUSF is awarding over $180,000.00 in grants to the area's public schools through $500.00 teacher grants.
